![]() In short, this unit is extremely fast and can use any offensive or defensive ability. To put this in perspective, the maximum base stat a unit can have is 150 in Speed and 250 in Pow/Def/Mag/Res. Feast your eyes on this:ĥ3 Levels Master Monk (Total) / 45 Levels Trickster ![]() Fire resistant, immune, or absorbing enemies, but you'll never be incapable of action on some level.Īlso, properly trained Bangaa are broken as hell. This is particularly helpful with White Wind since you can keep your HP at high levels while attacking foes. And of course, you have access to all the awesome Blue Magick spells. Finally, you can Magick Frenzy Recharge and heal both HP and MP. Additionally, any of your other units with Fire absorbing equipment can be healed. You will deal immense damage while healing yourself. Basically you can jump into a hoard of enemies and cast Magick Frenzy with Fira. I've played and beat all 300 Missions on Normal, but I need one last slog for the final mission. Healing and reviving with one spell is awesome. Still, the fact that Sages can't use Raise any more sucks. ![]() Giga Flare and Scathe also hit reasonably hard if you don't need to do any boosting. Hastega is a fantastic support spell and with Half MP you can cast it on the first turn, which Moogles aren't capable of since none of their classes learn Half MP. Having a Moogle Knight/Juggler with Ultima Charge as your partner is ideal since you can build up enough MP pretty easily for them too.Īlso, in terms of power Nu Mou are completely stomped by Summoner/Red Mage Viera (and they're supposed to be the magic-oriented race.), so support is their best use later on, which is where the time mage abilities come in. It makes very quick work of maps where you need to defeat one specific enemy since the Ultima abilities are now magic based and Sages have high magic growth. What to do should be pretty obvious - you Smile Toss/Quick walk across the map (you NEED half MP for this, as Quick costs more than 10 otherwise) and use the extra MP to hit the enemy leader with Ultima Blow. You need either another Time Mage with Half MP and Quick or a Moogle with Smile Toss for this to work. Honestly, I think it's a step down from Disgaea in terms of overall customization and depth but it's still a really enjoyable game.īesides the really obvious setups like dual sword Paladin + Seer, anything/Blue Mage, and Hunter + Ravager, one that I've always liked is: I haven't played this game since my DS broke, but I had a lot of fun with it before then. Sweet baby Jesus, you won't see more damage from any other unit. Dragon Force your Physical Attack, then rape rape rape rape rape rape with Geomancy boosted Hoarfrost Blades, Shimmering Blades, Skyfury Blades, and Lifethread Blades. The only Blue Mage skill you really need is fucking Dragon Force. After you Ether Shell your buddy above, just Rend Speed the opposing team so their turns come a lot less often, and you will own the souls of your opponents. Fuck his offensive stats, you won't be attacking much. ![]() Level mostly as a Trickster, since you want that Speed, and you want it badly. I suggest this Cannoneer as your support for this character: Damage the entire opposing team with a mediocre Illusionist magick, then maul every one of them again TWICE with your double Heretic Rods, racking up the damage from your insane Physical Attack thanks to your Parivir leveling. You want him/her (I hate not knowing the gender of my Hume characters, wtf) to have high Physical Attack and not really care about Magick Attack because you'll be firing off Dual Wielded Magic Frenzied Illusionist magicks and ripping the opposing team's asshole wide open. Raise this character as a Parivir mostly until you max level at 99, then switch his job to Illusionist. I've got over 500 hours of total gameplay. ![]()
